HTC Pyramid – what a mystery

HTC Pyramid – what a mystery

HTC’s latest device is a real mystery. Dubbed Pyramid, this smartphone scheduled to be available in May on the T-Mobile network will be running Android. The mystery is some sources claims that the Pyramid will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, while others claim it will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense. The reason of all this confusion is that it is very unlikely that a smartphone device will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb since it is specifically designed for tablets. Some claims that adjustment will be made accordingly to adapt it to the smartphone; imho, does not make sense.
Nevertheless, even getting a good picture of it is hard, these pictures were taken by Chinese website XDA

One thing for sure is that the HTC Pyramid will have a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen. qHD stands for quarter High Definition (960 x 540). It will be able to compete against other dual core devices such as the Motorola Atrix 4G thanks to its Dual-Core Snapdragon MSM8260 clocked at 1.2 GHz.
The Pyramid will have 786 MB of Ram and will be able to support T-Mobile HSPA+ 4G. Picture wise, it will come with a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facer.

Other than that we’ll have to wait and see what HTC and T-Mobile are really up to with this device. At least the Pyramid has an appropriate name, a real mystery that is.
