Newly launched canadian cell phone carrier Wind mobile, is in discussion with Google to carry Google’s Nexus One. Eventhough Wind mobile service is currently only up in Alberta and Ontario, it still has a temporary competitive edge over its competitors such as Rogers or Telus in obtaining Nexus One. Wind mobile is the only carrier in Canada who operates in the AWS spectrum band, as does T-mobile the first and only carrier for the moment that supports Nexus one.
However, Google is known to be working on a version for Verizon wireless who operates on CDMA as Bell and Telus do. One can speculate that Nexus one should be crossing the canadian border as early as this summer.
