The Amazon AppStore launched last year in the US is soon going to expand to Europe. In total, 5 European countries, namely France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K will have an Amazon AppStore.
Amazon is open for new apps submission for those countries and encouraging developers to sign up with them.
The Amazon AppStore is an alternative to Google’s Play store from a trusted brand. Amazon is hoping to use it’s Amazon background shopping experience to target users with related apps when making a purchase on Amazon.
Furthermore, Amazon is changing the way it is remunerating developers. Starting July 1st, developers will be paid 70% of the apps list price. Amazon is hoping that all these changes will boost it’s app revenue sales.
