Indian Mobile operator MTS has announced the launch of two CDMA Android phones, the MTS MTag 3.1 and MTS Livewire. Both phones are actually rebranded phones from Huawei and ZTE and will run Android 2.2 Froyo.
The MTS MTag 3.1 is really a rebranded Huawei C8511 featuring a 2.8-inch touchscreen with a 3.2 megapixel camera. The MTS phone will allow you to watch Live TV directly on your phone thanks to MTS TV application. If necessary, you can plug in earphones throught the 3.5 mm headphone jack slot and just enjoy your show.
The MTS Livewire is a rebranded ZTE N600 and will also feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen with a 3 megapixel camera.
Both phones will be launched at the very low price of Rs. 5,000 (USD $ 110) in India. After low priced tablets, here comes low priced Android smartphones. With prices like this, Android is definitely going to increase its market share in India.
