MapmyIndia and Qualcomm are teaming up to bring you the ultimate car experience. A 7-inch Android tablet serving as a CarPad or GPS.
The Android tablet will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor and will come with 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi and bluetooth. GPS functionality is ensured with MapmyIndia’s Aura GPS navigation interface. The CarPad will come pre-loaded with 3D maps of India with over 5 million point of interest, 1200 cities maps.
The MapmyIndia CarPad will cost Rs.22,990 (USD $500) and will be available online starting from 15th September. For this price you will get a car-kit containing a CarPad holder, charger, a headrest mount and a windshield mount,
Pretty neat if you ask me, driving with a 7-inch tablet as a GPS. I just wished the HP TouchPad could have GPS functionality in it too! Unfortunately it doesnt.
