Sony’s first Android tablet is getting more official. Originally code named the S1 tablet, this Android device will be renamed to the Sony Tablet S.
The Tablet S should be released September 1st with Android 3.1 Honeycomb on it. There isn’t any news for the Ice Cream Sandwich update yet, but hopefully the tablet should be upgradeable soon.
The Tablet S features a 9.4-inch touchscreen with some interesting features. For instance, like the Vizio tablet, the Tablet S by Sony will also feature an infra-red sensor allowing the tablet to be used as remote control. The Tablet S will also be DLNA enabled, allowing you to connect to any DLNA compatible device.
The Sony Tablet S is the first of two Android tablet coming this fall. Both device will be PlayStation certified, allowing users to enjoy PlayStation games onto their tablet.
