Wal-Mart is preparing to introduce a low cost Android phone on it’s Straight Talk carrier.
The phone from Samsung is known as the Samsung Galaxy Precedent and features a 3.2-inch touchscreen. The Galaxy Precedent will be running an older version of Android – 2.2 Froyo. The Galaxy Precedent will be powered by an 800MHz processor with 384MB of RAM. Other features include a 2 megapixel camera, A-GPS, FM radio and 3.5 mm audio jack.
In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Precedent will come with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mini-USB port and removable microSD card.
This Android smartphone is on pre-pay service and will be available for the low cost of $149.88 without a contract. Making the deal even sweeter you can also add to it the Straight Talk’s $45 unlimited voice, text, and data plan.
Launch date have yet to be confirmed by Wal-Mart. If you’re looking for a phone with decent specs and that won’t put a hole in your pockets, the Samsung Galaxy Precedent may be for you.
