Motorola unveiled another very affordable smartphone, the Motorola XT531. The XT531, unlike the XT316 does not feature a QWERTY keyboard, but rather just a 3.5-inch touchscreen.
The phone is a budget phone but is very well equipped for a device of this classification. The Motorola XT531, is powered by a single-core 800MHz processor with 512MB of RAM. This phone comes with dual cameras, a 5 megapixel rear camera with front-facing VGA camera for video calls. Aside from this, the phone will have the normal functions most phone have nowadays, GPS, HSDPA, MicroSD card support, Wi-Fi and 3.5mm headset jack.
Onto the good stuff, the Motorola XT531 will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, not bad for a low-end device, as even high-end device don’t all have Android 2.3. And now, my favorite option, dual-SIM card. That’s right, the Motorola XT531 will launch in 2 versions, one with a single SIM card, and another one with dual-SIM cards.
Note that the dual-SIM card version will only be available in Asia and should launch starting this month in China followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The Motorola XT531 will be known as the Motorola FIRE XT in Europe, and as the Motorola SPICE XT in Latin America. Release date for Europe and America is scheduled for this fall.
