After months of speculation where manufacturers where bragging to be the first one to produce a tablet running Android 3.2 Honeycomb, Acer finally launched the world first 7-inch tablet running Android 3.2 – the Acer Iconia Tab A100. Huawei with the MediaPad and Sharp with the Galapagos can take their time now that the Acer A100 is out.
The Acer Tab A100 is powered by a 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor. This 7-inch tablet, will be the first tablet on the market to run Android 3.2. This version of Android has been specifically made for smaller tablet since Android 3.0 and 3.1 were incompatible with tablets smaller than 10.1-inch.
Now, even apps designed for smartphone will look good on your 7-inch tablet.
What else is great about the Acer Tab A100? It runs Android without any manufacturers UI. That’s right, Acer did not add its own custom UI on the A100 Tab.
The Acer Tab A100 is now available in the US and will be available next month in Canada. Only Wi-Fi versions are available at the moment. The 8GB version will cost you $329.99 whereas the 16GB version will cost you $349.99.
