Korean manufacturer Samsung Electronics just launched last week the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in South Korea. Even thought the tablet is already out almost everywhere else, Samsung just released it in Korea.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is expected to take on Apple’s iPad as its main competitor. The rivalry between the two companies started even before the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was out on the market. Samsung delayed production of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 when the iPad 2 first came out in order to make it more competitive. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is now faster and lighter than Apple’s iPad 2.
Things are now even worse between the two companies with lawsuits for patent infringement going both sides and Apple trying to ban Samsung’s products from the USA.
Regardless, the Samsung Tab retail price starts from 670,000 won (USD $635). That’s a little more expansive than Apple’s iPad 2. Will the Korean manufacturer have a successful debut in its home country? Or will the iPad 2 prevail? Tough one there, we’ll see in a couple of weeks.
