Samsung Galaxy S2 to be launched in August.

According to a recent interview from Samsung’s president of Mobile Business and Digital Imaging, Shin Jong-Kyun,

We expect to release the Galaxy S2 in the U.S. market sometime in August.

That’s right, the famous million selling handset from Samsung is coming to the USA next month. Even thought its already available everywhere else in the world from Australia to Hong Kong; the Samsung Galaxy S2 has yet to reach the US. Even their neighbor up North, Canada just got the Samsung Galaxy S2 this week.

The long awaited Samsung handset will however be renamed by each carrier,
– AT&T will call it the Samsung Attain.
– Sprint will call it the Samsung Within.
– T-Mobile will call it the Samsung Hercules.
– Verizon will call it the Samsung Function.

Why do carriers rename the device to a completely different name? I really don’t know, but if anyone has a clue, please let me know, I would love to know. At least, we’re getting closer to a release date.
