Toshiba Thrive users are not very happy. Their new toy has a bug, the Thrive tablet does not wake up from sleep mode. The 10.1-inch tablet has been available since last week in the US and has made a few disappointed customers.
The issue as stated above, is the impossible awakening of the Thrive tablet after being put in sleep mode. The only solution so far? Reboot.
Toshiba is aware of the issue and is working on a fix for it.
The Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet is available for US$429, which is quite cheap when compared to other tablets on the market. Unfortunately this issue may slow down sales of this Android tablet. At least a few current Toshiba Thrive owners are already thinking of returning their device.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how long it takes Toshiba to resolve the issue. Hopefully not too long as most reviews have been very positive towards the Thrive. It would be sad to impact sales of the Thrive just because of this annoying but non-critical issue.
All we can do for now is to wait for Toshiba’s update, hopefully they’ll resolve it soon.
