Sprint Wireless first 4G device – the Motorola Photon 4G

After the Motorola Droid 3 on Verizon, here comes the Motorola Photon 4G on Sprint. This Motorola phone will Sprint’s first 4G device and will be available starting July 31st.

The Photon is powered by a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM expandable to 48GB with a 32 GB SD Card. The screen on the Motorola Photon is a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen.

As any respectable high-end phone, the Photon has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with flash camera as well as a front-facing camera for video chat. The Motorola Photon can act as a 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot with support up to eight devices.

A few optional accessories are available for the Photon. For instance, you can buy an HD Station for $99.99 to hook up your phone directly to a larger screen. If you’re always on the road, you can get yourself the Navigation Dock for $59.99. The Navigation Dock is perfect for displaying maps and can even be used to make calls and streaming music. As usual these are pretty neat add-ons from Motorola, just like all the accessories for the Motorola Atrix.

If you’re just interested in the phone, it’ll cost you $199 with Sprint Wireless on a 2 year contract starting July 31st.
