A new Android handset is set to launch in the coming weeks in Canada.
Canadian carrier Mobilicity along with Quebec carrier Videotron are preparing to launch their own version of the HTC MyTouch 4G/ HTC Emerald.
Rebranded HTC Panache by Mobilicity and HTC Glacier by Videotron, this new handset is the same as the one offered by T-Mobile in the US.
The only difference will be in the Android OS version as the HTC Panache/ Glacier will come with the latest version of Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
The HTC Panache/Glacier will feature a 3.8-inch screen, with a 1 GHz processor and 4G of memory. As with all smartphones, GPS and Wi-Fi is included as well as a 5MP camera.
This phone will come with HTC’s own proprietary UI – HTC Sense.
For the moment, Mobilicity is starting to take pre-orders on its website and is selling the HTC Panache for $499.99 without contract.
As for Videotron, the HTC Glacier is still a predicted device as no official news are available. The upcoming Glacier news came from a leaked Gingerbread ROM information named RUU_Glacier_Gingerbread_S_Videotron_CA_2.10.1530.1_Radio_12.55.60.25_26.09.04.26_M_release_188466_signed.exe that you can download.
