Verizon’s Samsung Droid Charge 4G LTE in backorder

Verizon is introducing its second 4G phone, the Samsung Droid Charge 4G LTE.

The Samsung Droid Charge is a big phone, with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED+ screen, the Charge is slightly bigger than the Iphone 4. Similarities can be found with other Samsung phones, as the Droid Charge is an extended cousin of the Samsung Galaxy family.

Loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo, the Charge has a 1GHz processor and comes with 512MB of RAM, 2GB of ROM plus an additional 32GB of data storage from the included micro-SD card.
Two camera are available on this handset, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera as well as a 8 megapixel back camera.

The Droid Charge comes with Samsung own User Interface, the Samsung Touch Wiz. Honestly nothing beats a stock Android, I just wish manufacturers could just leave the UI unchanged. Regardless, this is just to say that its not the best UI and that unfortunately it lags when you switch home screens.
Battery usage as with all Samsung Galaxy is not the best, and the Droid Charge is no exception. The Super AMOLED+ screen does help preserve the battery a little bit, but just a little bit.

For the moment, the Droid Charge 4G LTE is out of stock on Verizon, even Amazon Wireless which sells the Droid Charge at $249.99, as opposed to $299 at Verizon is experiencing stock shortage.
