It seems like Sony Ericsson has not let down its iconic Walkman phone. Well in a way yes, with just a simple update on the Sony Ericsson website, the company unofficially introduced the coming of the new Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman phone.
At a glance the phone looks very much like last year, Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. Featuring a 3 inch touch screen display, the phone will have a 3.2 megapixel camera and a memory expandable up to 16 GB via microSD card. Three colors will be available, azure, orange and red.
This Android phone will come with Sony’s own Timescape User Interface on top of Google’s Android. At the moment, Timescape UI only works with Google Android 2.1 Eclair; hence the predicted OS of this Android phone. Note that this would be awful as this phone should be released in the middle of the summer when most phones should be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread (or at least in the transition).
Pricing is not yet available, all we know is that this phone will target the Asian market, with releases in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillipines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
