Tablets are getting very affordable these days, after the $199 Asus Nexus 7, Asus is coming back this spring with another very affordable tablet, the MeMO Pad ME172V available for only 149$.
This affordable tablet comes at a great price, but compared to the Nexus 7, it also comes with reduced specs. Introduced during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013, the MeMO Pad is a 7 inch tablet, running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The MeMO Pad is powered by a 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. You’ll have the option of two version, the 8GB or 16GB version both of which will be available in three colours, Cherry Pink, Sugar White and Titanium Grey. Memory storage will also be expandable thanks to a microSD card.
On board, you’ll have a 1 megapixel front camera, not the greatest but still; unfortunately thought, the MeMO Pad has no back camera.
The MeMO Pad is expected to launch this coming April at the very affordable price of $149.
The specs aren’t the greatest, but the price definitely is. If Asus can bring quality in this affordable tablet just like it did with the Nexus 7, then we have a real winner. Let’s just wait until April.
