Sony is bringing Android devices closer to you with it’s new SmartWatch. The 1.3-inch touchscreen watch is not an Android device by itself like the WIMM, but rather an extension of your Android device.
Compatible with most smartphones and tablet devices running Android 2.1, the SmartWatch enables you to enjoy your Android device without taking it out of your pocket. With the Sony SmartWatch you can now check your text messages, emails, Facebook and Tweeter updates, directly from your wrist.
The device works by establishing a Bluetooth connection with your device with a range of up to 32 feet. Once paired, most regular apps can be used on the SmartWatch.
Priced at $149, the Sony SmartWatch is similar in design to Apple’s iPad Nano and can be used as a watch or clipped on your belt.
So is it worth it? It may not be for everyone but it could be very useful in some cases, as it is a very discreet way to see who’s calling/ texting you during that important meeting.
