Reliance communication is very busy with Android. After launching a 3G Android tablet, the India Telecom company is preparing to launch a dual SIM GSM-CDMA Android phone.
The CoolPad, will be a big Android phone. Boasting a 5-inch touchscreen, I can’t think of comparing it to Dell’s now defunct Dell Streak. Aside from the touchscreen size, the CoolPad will be a high-end phone that will compete against brands like Samsung and LG according to CoolPad’s Communications director.
The phone is already available in China under the name CoolPad 9930 and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The phone will be powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU and features an 8 megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video recording, Wi-Fi, bluetooth and GPS.
From the pictures and the video, I must say that the phone looks pretty sleek. It is kind of big, but it really looks nice. The price is not so nice thought, in China it retails for 5000 yuan, (USD $780). So India should expect a similar price range.
For now the 5 inch phone is expected to come out this November.
