NTT Docomo in Japan is preparing to release a waterproof and dust proof Android tablet next month. Japanese manufacturer Fujitsu is making the Android tablet under the Arrows Tab name or F-01D.
The dual-core 1GHz tablet features a 10.1-inch screen with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In terms of connectivity, the tablet will feature LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and microSD card slot. The Arrows tab will have 2 cameras, one rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, a one front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera.
With an on-board GPS and its ruggedized form factor, the Fujitsu Arrows Tab was created to withstand dust and water no matter where you are.
The tablet will be running Android 3.1 Honeycomb at a yet to be defined price. The specs of this tablet reminds me of the Casio G’zone Commando. Except that the latter is a smartphone.
But the real question is, do we really need a tablet that can withstand dust? Waterproof yes, you never know where and how you drop it in the water.
