Viewsonic is preparing to introduce another 7-inch Android tablet – the Viewsonic ViewPad 7e. This low cost tablet is expected to launch during this year’s IFA show in Berlin.
At a retail price of only $249 or €169 this affordable tablet will features all the basic tech goodies we all expect nowadays, from Bluetooth, to HDMI to Wi-Fi.
The big question is what version of Android this tablet will run. Based on previous Viewsonic tablets, it is most likely that the Viewsonic ViewPad 7e will run a sub Honeycomb OS such as Froyo 2.2.
Regardless, for such a low price, the Viewsonic ViewPad 7e should easily itself a new home among bargain hunters. Nothing like the HP TouchPad frenzy but still a very good deal. It will also come pre-installed with Amazon Kindle software, so consumers looking for a Kindle will definitely consider the ViewPad 7e.
There are other competitors in this price range thought. Don’t forget the Archos Android tablet which is very affordable and provide lots of storage. There’s also the Vizio tablet with some unique features such as Infrared controller. I guess too much choice is like not enough.
