Sony is introducing the W8 Live with Walkman Android smartphone.
This phone is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen with a 320×480 pixel resolution. A 1GHz processor powers the device, along with 512 MB of RAM and 320 MB of ROM expandable to 32GB with microSD card.
Even if this phone is branded as a walkman device to listen to music, the W8 still features a very good 8 megapixel camera with 8x zoom. You can also shoot 720p HD videos with this camera. For video chats, the W8 features a simple front facing VGA camera.
To have the best entertainment experience possible, the W8 device comes with Sony’s Qriocity service delivering music and videos on demand.
For the moment no firm date and pricing are available. Rumors are that the W8 will be an affordable phone to be launched later this year.
