Number one smartphone OS in Australia: Android

Android-Apple

So here we go again, Android has taken the top spot in Australia as the number one OS used on smartphones. Obviously, the contender is Apple with it’s iOS running on iPhone. Unfair battle? Honestly yes. Sometimes you have to be fair and when we talk about Android and iOS, we are not comparing apples with apples.

Android is available and distributed by many manufacturers, from Sony Ericsson to HTC, to Samsung, to Huawei and Motorola just to name a few. iOS is only available from Apple and available on iPhone. So for Apple to have been on top of the charts as a single manufacturer and for leading the way to this amazing smartphone revolution they first started with the original iPhone, props to them.

And to see that all the hype after the iPhone 5, which is rumored to launch on October 7, hats off to Apple. They have led the path in this smartphone frenzy world. Android is of course awesome too, its just that its hard to compare the number of Android OS and iOS devices sold when there is no common ground.

Anyways, all this is to state the Android sales have now surpassed iOS sales in Australia. The trend should be the same everywhere else in the world too!
