Sprint is getting ready to launch the Motorola Photon 4G this sunday. The 4G WiMax device features a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen powered by a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor. The Photon 4G has 16GB of ROM expandable to 48GB via a 32GB microSD card with 1GB of RAM.
The Motorola Photon comes with the latest Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread version topped with Motorola’s own Motoblur UI. The Photon 4G has an 8 megapixel camera and a front facing camera. The camera on the Photon 4G can take HD videos that you can view on your big screen TV via an optional docking station. Another cool cheap little feature is the kickstand on the back that lets you enjoy watching videos on your Photon hands-free.
The Motorola Photon will support GSM and CDMA, so it is the perfect phone for international travelers. The Photon is already available for pre-Order online from Amazon Wireless and Sprint. The phone will retail for $199.99 with a 2 year agreement. That’s a bit pricey, but lets wait and see how much the Samsung Galaxy S2 will retail for in order to do a better comparison.
