Samsung to produce Samsung Galaxy 3D based on Galaxy S2?

3D. That’s right 3D is the new hype. Everybody wants it, and manufacturers are working hard on it. After, HTC with the Evo 3D, Sharp with the Aquos SH-12C 3D and LG with the Optimus 3D and the G-Slate tablet , here comes Samsung.

Samsung-3D

Samsung is rumored to prepare its first 3D handset to ship this Q4. The 3D mobile will be based on the famous Samsung Galaxy S2, lets call it Samsung Galaxy 3D for now.

The Samsung Galaxy 3D will feature a 4.3-inch 3D LCD display. The Galaxy 3D will be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor and run Android 2.3 Gingerbread (maybe Ice Cream Sandwich).

The 3D effects will be provided by dual 8 megapixel camera on the back of the phone. You’ll have to view 3D content on your phone, and regular content can be viewed on your TV screen via HDMI output.

All these are rumors, but since the 3D race is on, it could very well be. I’m not sure if consumers are ready for 3D, its definitely cool, but not a feature I’m looking at when picking my phone. Battery life is more important to me!
