Motorola promised us the Droid Bionic this summer. Well it seems like it is finally going to happen. Verizon Wireless has put up a sign-up page to receive news about when the device will launch.
The dual-core device with a 1GHz processor was really THE device to get back then in January 2011 during the CES show. In the fast paced Android world, this 4.3-inch qHD handset is facing some tough competition. From the multi-million selling Samsung Galaxy S2 to one of HTC’s best smartphone to date, the HTC Sensation, I hope Motorola is ready.
The Droid Bionic features an 8-megapixel rear camera with front-facing camera, HDMI mirroring and supports Verizon LTE support. The unfortunate part, is that the Droid Bionic will run on Android 2.2 Froyo. That’s right, Froyo is so 2010… hopefully Motorola and Verizon will have the Gingerbread ready for launch time or shortly after.
I hope the Motorola Droid Bionic does not follows the Droid’s 3/ Milestone’s 3 paths, as preliminary sales have not been very impressive so far.
