HTC will be launching another Facebook handset after the HTC Salsa, now comes the HTC Status also known as the HTC Chacha, This dedicated Facebook handset will be available through US carrier AT&T and Canadian carrier Telus this summer.
The HTC Status (Chacha) is one of the very Android phone following the Blackberry like format. The Status features a 2.6-inch touchscreen as well as a full QWERTY keyboard. Most importantly, the HTC Status Chacha phone features at the bottom of the phone a special dedicated Facebook button. With a touch of this button, you’ll have instant access to your Facebook account.
Sharing pictures and keeping up to date with your friends have never been this easy. Plus, if your Facebook friend calls you, his last status and picture will show up on your screen.
Technically, the HTC Status runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by an 800MHz processor. As a respected social device, the HTC Status has 2 cameras used for video chats. The rear camera is 5-megapixel with auto-focus and the front-facing camera has 1.3 megapixel.
This phone should be available this summer, however no price nor release date have been issued by HTC, AT&T or Telus regarding the Status phone.
