The Samsung Galaxy S2 is not even out in the US and Canada that rumors about a new version are already leaking out. In an attempt to stop or rather create competition against the possible release of the Iphone 5 from Apple, the Korean manufacturer is boosting the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will have a faster dual-core processor running at 1.4 GHz, with 1GB of RAM. Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread along with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI complete the software interface of this boosted Samsung Galaxy S2.
No news regarding NFC thought, that would be a good thing to include on the Galaxy S2 as the Iphone 5 is rumored to have a NFC chip.
On top of that, Samsung may even rename the phone to something else completely different than Galaxy. This new version of the Samsung Galaxy is expected to release this fall around August or September just in time for the release of Apple’s Iphone 5 should there be one.
Could this sudden rush from Samsung to compete against Apple’s Iphone comes from the current legal battle both company have between each other?
Samsung’s Galaxy S2 is probably the best Android, the Plus version would be awesome. But if Samsung thinks they can stop the Iphone 5, that’s another thing, impacting the sales of the Iphone 5? To some extent, but even then, regardless, I guess we as consumers can only benefit from this competition.
Note that this isn’t the first time Samsung updates its products in middle of production, they did the same thing earlier this year with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. They re-improved their current version to better compete against Apple’s Ipad 2.
