Huawei will be launching with Cricket Wireless a high-end pre-paid smartphone the Huawei Glory.
The Huawei Glory features a 4-inch touchscreen powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor. Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be the default OS at release time, and Ice Cream Sandwich update should follow shortly.
The camera on the Glory is an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. The Huawei Glory will also support Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. Interestingly enough, the Huawei Glory won’t have an HDMI connector. Huawei claims that they have something else in mind regarding HDMI connections and will fill us in later.
This Android phone will be available in the US on Cricket Wireless carrier for the low price of $300. With high-end specs like these and such an affordable price, Huawei will surely boost Android device sales to many new users. Expected release date should be November.
Ironically, one of the biggest market will not have the Huawei Glory device – India. Huawei introduced the Huawei Ideos line-up in India recently, more like budget phones and claims the Indian market is not ready for the Huawei Glory.
With such a low price, I think that any market is ready for this Android device. Great specs, great features, awesome price, that’s all I can say about the Glory. Hopefully, it won’t disappoint.
