Huawei is expecting to launch three new Android handsets in India. The Huawei Ideos X5, X2 and Chat will become available starting June 13.
The Huawei Ideos X5 also known as U8800 is powered by a 800MHz Qualcomm processor with 4GB of internal memory. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and features a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen.
The Ideos X5 camera is a 5.0 megapixel camera with LED flash that can captures 720p HD video.
The Huawei Ideos X5 retail price is Rs.14,999 (USD $335).
The Huawei Ideos X2 runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and features a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen. The Ideos X2 is more like a music player as it comes with a standard 3.5 mm jack and FM radio. The Huawei Ideos X2 features a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The Huawei Ideos X2 retail price is Rs.8,999 (USD $200).
The Huawei Ideos Chat, is a half touchscreen half full Qwerty smartphone. The touchscreen size is 2.6-inch and it will run Android 2.1 Eclair. The Ideos Chat will have 512MB of internal memory and 3.2 megapixel camera.
This low end budget phone should look like the recently introduced Huawei Boulder available in Singapore and can be purchased for Rs.8,199 (USD $185).
With this new line-up of phone, Huawei is targeting all ranges of the market. Huawei is targeting to reach 15% of the Android global market share with its new Android devices. That strategy surely did work for HTC which is now a well renowned brand in the smartphone world.
