US Cellular just got itself two interesting Android device, the HTC Merge and the LG Genesis.
The HTC Merge is a global phone, for the busy travelling user. The HTC Merge will support both CDMA and GSM bandwidth. This handset is powered by an 800 MHz processor with 363MB of RAM. Under the 3.8-inch touchscreen, you’ll find a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The HTC Merge runs Android 2.2 Froyo and features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. It will also include GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile hot-spot capability.
The HTC Merge also features easy access to the new Amazon Appstore. Rarely will you find smartphone pre-configured for the Amazon Appstore. This is probably thanks to AT&T’s recent policy change regarding side-loading. Nonetheless, much appreciated feature.
The HTC merge is available right now with a $100 rebate for $150 upon signing a two year contract.
The LG Genesis is an exclusive US Cellular Android phone. It features a clamshell design with an outer 3.5-inch touchscreen and an inner 3.2-inch touchscreen. A full QWERTY keyboard is available on the bottom inner part of the clamshell.
The LG Genesis will run Android 2.2 Froyo powered by a 1GHz processor. The LG Genesis comes with a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile hot-spot support.
The LG Genesis will be available June 9 for $150 with a $100 rebate and a two year plan.
