Verizon to update Motorola Droid X on May 27

Motorola Droid X users get ready for your update. That’s right, Verizon will start rolling out updates to the Motorola Droid X tomorrow Friday May 27.

Don’t we love updates? It’s like having a new phone again. This update will turn your Droid X from Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3.
The software build number will be 4.5.596.MB810.Verizon.en.US and if you don’t update it manually you should get your update over the air (OTA) in the next few days.

Changes this update will bring includes new User Interface, download manager, multi-touch key, geotagging, camera autofocus improvement in low lighting conditions and improved battery life while using Bluetooth.

The update will take up 112MB memory space from your Droid X. Instructions on how to update your Motorola Droid X are available directly from the Verizon Wireless website.
