LG is introducing a dual screen clamshell Android dubbed the LG Genesis or LG US760.
The device is expected to run on US Cellular network for a estimated price of $249.99 on a two-year agreement. We say estimated since no official statement has been released from US Cellular yet regarding this smartphone. LG is just a bit ahead of time in announcing this US Cellular Android device.
The LG Genesis is a special phone with a rather unique clamshell design. The LG Genesis features a 3.5 inch touchscreen when closed. When you open it, another 3.2 inch touchscreen display appears, as well as a 5 row full QWERTY keyboard with a navigation keypad. At least this clamshell design seems better than the one recently introduced by Sharp with the Aquos Phone Hybrid 007-SH.
The LG Genesis runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor. Total available internal memory is 430MB with an extra 8GB from microSD. A 5 megapixel camera with flash is available. The LG Genesis support DLNA media sharing and support for Wi-Fi Hotspot sharing.
One last point, the LG Genesis US760 microSD card is accessible without having to remove the cellphone case or battery. Not a technological feature but an extremely handy feature that few handset manufacturer think of.
