HTC’s latest tablet the Flyer is out on the market. The Taiwanese based company released the 7-inches tablet in Europe in countries such as France, Germany, Italy and UK. The HTC Flyer is also available from BestBuy as a preorder in the USA.
The HTC Flyer tablet runs on a 1.5GHz processor, and is available in two versions. The Wi-Fi version with 16GB of storage and the 3G version with 32GB. Memory is expandable via microSD card in both versions.
The default Android OS on release will be Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Honeycomb version should be available shortly. As with most HTC’s product, HTC incorporated its own proprietary UI HTC Sense. Note that the HTC Sense version available on the Flyer is a newly redesigned version with new widgets and applications especially made for tablets.
The European version and US version differ a little bit in terms of accessory and pricing.
The base European version costs more, at a starting price of 499 Euros (USD $710) but comes with HTC’s stylus pen. This stylus pen allows you to take handwritten notes or draw with the pressure-sensitive system.
The base US version does not include the stylus, but is priced at $499 similar to Apple’s Ipad2.
