LG launched the LG Optimus Big in South Korea last week. With a huge 4.3 inch screen, the Optimus Big also introduces a new type of screen, a Nova display. This touchscreen display is twice as bright as the Super Amoled display and uses 50% less power than the regular LCD screens.
The Optimus Big will run Android 2.2 Froyo on a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, with 16GB of ROM, expandable to 32GB via MicroSD card. Front and back camera will be available for video chat. In terms of design, the Optimus Big looks like the Iphone 3GS, just bigger since its screen will be 4.3 inch as opposed to 3 inch.
Despite being released with Froyo, an update to Gingerbread should be available shortly.
No date has been scheduled for a US release but it should only be a matter of time before this exclusive South Korean handset hits the world.
