Casio and Verizon Wireless teamed up to release the worlds toughest phone, the G’zOne Commando.
This phone is also probably one of the weirdest or not so pretty smartphone, but regardless, it was conceived with the idea of withstanding abuse. This Android running phone, will have Android 2.2 Gingerbread as its operating system, and will feature a 3.6 inch touchsreen.
The G’zOne Commando, will have a 5 megapixel camera, and meets US military standards such as temperature resistance up to -25 to 85 degrees Celsius. With a thickness of 0.6 inches, this phone will be able to resists four foot drops, 1 meter water immersions, dusts, salt water sprays and a whole lot of abuses you can imagine.
This device is intended primarily for heavy duty workers, such construction workers, factory or even just a careless user. Perfect for the outdoor users, this handset comes pre-loaded with some useful outdoor apps such a mobile compass, walking counter or just a trip memory.
The Casio G’zOne will be available on Verizon wireless network starting April 28 for $199.99 with a two year data plan. Aside from its weird name, this phone looks just fine.
