To celebrate earth day, Sprint and Samsung mobile teamed up to launch their latest eco-friendly smartphone – the Samsung Replenish.
This Android runs on Froyo 2.2, and features a 2.8 inch touchscreen as well as a full QWERTY keyboard. This eco-friendly handset also comes with a 2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
But why is it eco-friendly? Well mainly because it is partially built with recycled materials and uses fewer sensitive materials. Furthermore, it comes with an energy efficient charger and its packaging is fully recyclable. Finally, the optional solar back cover allows a full battery charge; cost of the charger is $29.
The Replenish will come with Green ID pack, part of the basic Sprint ID pack, which is basically an app that targets customers with applications they may need depending on their personal profile. Except that this Green ID pack will offer tips for energy saving, recycling by eco sites such as TreeHugger.com, Earth911.com, Green America and the National Audubon Society.
On top of that, Sprint is going to reduce your monthly data plan by $10.
The Samsung Replenish goes on sale May 8 at the incredible price of $49.99 with a two year agreement. Three colors will be available, Black and Arctic Blue at launch time, and Raspberry Pink in June.
