Just a week ago, Sony Ericsson launched in Europe the long awaited Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Today, on April 7th, Sony Ericsson launched two new smartphones in India – the Xperia Arc and the Xperia Play.
These two Android handsets come with Google’s latest Android 2.3 – Gingerbread.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a 4.2 inch touch screen. Memory is expandable up to 32GB and an 8.1 MP camera is available. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is at its slimmest point just 8.7mm and is available in midnight blue and silver.
Retail suggested price for this Android is Rs 32,000 ( $725.00 USD).
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play also runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a 4 inch touch screen. Memory is expandable up to 32GB and an 5.1 MP camera is available. This new handset is the only PlayStation Certified smartphone that will be able to run PlayStation games at the moment. Gaming will be enhanced throught the slide out D-Pad PlayStation enthusiasts are familiar with. The handset will be available in black or white at a retail price of Rs 35,000 ( $790.00 USD).
In terms of performance, these new smartphones will be able to run multiple application simultaneously with minimal effect on battery life. These new Sony Ericsson Androids are definitely redefining the gaming experience.
