Dream users these days are having a hard time with Rogers. The year first started with a notice from Rogers letting them know that their Dream handset would not receive software upgrades. Rogers quickly came back with a free upgrade promotion to HTC Magic for Dream users.
But now, Rogers stopped selling Dreams and issued a text warning to all users letting them know that 911 calls can not be completed if the GPS receiver is enabled. Rogers will send a software fix to address this issue in the near future, but for now recommends disabling the GPS receiver.
This can be done as follows:
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Select Settings
3. Select Location
4. Uncheck Enable GPS Satellite
Dream users should follow these instructions.
