Initially, HTC claimed that too little memory was available on the Desire to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with HTC Sense UI. After massive disappointment by fans, HTC retracted its initial statement and said that it will work on a solution.

What did they do? They’ve supposedly removed their own HTC Sense UI in favor of the Android update. That’s actually very nice from them. The Android update according to last fridays message went well and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the HTC Desire should become a reality within the next two weeks. Finally, some good news, even if its only an update, its always pleasant to receive, its like getting a new phone with new functions.

Be sure to update!
