Samsung Galaxy Note 2 update to skip Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

A list displaying the status of handset updates from Australian operator Telstra suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 update from Jelly Bean 4.2.2 will not happen, but rather skipped directly to the latest version 4.3 or so.

The expected approval date for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 have been set to “Withdrawn”. Unstead you’ll find the following note:

“Samsung have elected globally to skip the 4.2.2 update for this device and will instead go to a newer version of Android. No schedule has been provided for this update.”

The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is a very minor update, so probably unstead of doing two update successively, they’ll just put everything into the latest one. Very good if you ask me, as long as we get the updates.

Nothing official from Samsung has been released yet, but they could very well be waiting for Google to officially announce Android 4.3 this coming wednesday, if thats what they are announcing.
