Christmas season is coming and manufacturers are pushing out new releases and devices for this busy period of the year. Apple is expected to introduce the iPad mini on Oct 23 and Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 2 on Oct 24. On top of that, Windows is expected to introduce its Windows phone on Oct 29.
What else? Google is also preparing to introduce its latest OS version of Android – Key Lime Pie 4.2 (or 4.1.2). This new update of Android should be a minor update but will also allow Google to introduce along with LG, the first Android handset to run Key Lime Pie – the LG Optimus G or Nexus 4. This device will have 2GB of RAM and will be powered by a quad-core processor. This new Nexus device is rumored to be one of the first Nexus device to become available on the market as Google is planning to allow more manufacturers to produce Nexus devices as long as they adhere to Google’s Nexus device requirements. These requirements will ensure that any manufacturer interested in producing a Nexus device will adhere to a minimum hardware requirement.
In the meantime, more than half of the market is still running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Even Samsung’s Galaxy S3 has yet to receive the Jelly Bean update for all of its users. How will a new update from Google so soon after the release of Jelly Bean will affect you? I can personally says that it is hard to keep up with all these updates. Especially when you have to wait for manufacturers to approve them; and that’s when your device is updatable. What do you think about all these Android update issues? Are you eagerly waiting for those update or you don’t mind having the latest Android update?
