Samsung is finally pushing the latest Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean to its Galaxy line up. 2 months after the introduction of Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, the first device to run Jelly Bean, it has been reported that the update has been available to Samsung Galaxy S3 users in Europe.
In total, the Jelly Bean update should be available for over dozen of Samsung devices. These include the following Samsung devices, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Mini 2, Galaxy Music, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 10, the Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 LTE, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy S Duos, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
For now, Samsung is getting the Jelly Bean update to the Galaxy S3 as it expects to make it available to most markets by October.
“The availability and schedule of the software upgrade will vary by market and wireless carriers’ requirements,”
Samsung said in a statement.
Other devices should follow shortly after. The timeframe for your device will vary depending on your location and your wireless carrier if you own a locked devices. Unlocked devices will get the update first directly from Samsung as there are no restrictions. Locked devices to a carrier will get the update last as the update must be approved by the wireless carrier. The carrier may also add its own ads to the update.
