Ice Cream Sandwich finally making its way to LG devices?

Own an LG Android device among the Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, Optimus LTE or Prada 3.0? Well there maybe good news for you if you haven’t rooted your device and are still waiting for Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich.

After months of speculation, it seems like LG will indeed update some devices to Ice Cream Sandwich. These are the Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, Optimus LTE and Prada 3.0. There’s a big “but” thought, the update seems to be only applicable in Singapore as it is LG Singapore who announced the news on its Facebook page. When inquiring LG about other regions, they are stating that the update will roll out in due time, but that the current news is indeed region specific.

LG ICS

Not sure what they mean by due time, but Jelly Bean is already out too… so basically even if Ice Cream Sandwich gets released, it’ll still be at least one version late. And thats, not very nice. What else can you do thought? Rooting is a good option, and for those less tech-savvy, well, then just wait for the release. But then again, if you’re not that tech-savvy, do you really care which Android version you’re running? I mean do you? Let us know!
