The 2011 Nissan Leaf is really on the edge of technology. Thanks to Nissan’s Carwings system, owners have been able to remotely access information regarding the state of their battery and even pre-heat or cool the cabin via Nissan’s website.

Apple’s iPhone users have been able to do so for a little while and now Android users will be able to do so as well. The free app available from Nissan is only available for now in the US with more countries to come soon.

Preliminary reviews have been very good so far by most users. Note that some users using older Android versions and Honeycomb tablets have reported difficulties using the app.

If you own a Nissan Leaf and an Android device, you have to get the app available from many Android app stores such as appbrain. Let us know how it goes!
