Samsung has setup a sign-up page on its website for US customers eager to know more about the Samsung Galaxy S2. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has already been released in most major markets in the world and has been adopted by over 5 million users since its launch in April. China just received the Samsung Galaxy S2 this week.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is not yet available in the US but should become available there around mid-august. Most major wireless carrier will have the device available. However it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S2 will differ in form and name from one carrier to another. The Samsung official page states the following,
Global Galaxy S II device shown. Screen images simulated. Appearance of device may vary.
For instance, rumors are that AT&T will have the Samsung Galaxy S2 renamed as the Samsung Attain and that the device will now feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard from underneath the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen.
–Sprint will rename the S2 as the Samsung Within.
–T-Mobile will rename it as the Samsung Hercules.
–Verizon Wireless will rename it as the Samsung Function.
This superphone will run on a dual-core 1.2GHz processor Android 2.3 Gingerbread, topped by Samsung’s TouchWiz 4.0.
Samsung is hoping to sell 10 million copies of the Samsung Galaxy S2. By looking at how well its currently doing and how eager most people are, it could probably reach its goal. If it includes NFC on the US version, that will most likely give it a supplemental boost. So far, no version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 outside of South Korea have the famous NFC chip included. This might change for the US as it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S2 is being treated differently in the US. Each carrier having their own version of the device and their own settings.
Would you get an NFC Samsung Galaxy S2 if it were available?

I am happy to see that finally someone can get it right and release a smart phone with an up to date version of Android. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is great, especially since it comes with Android version 2.3 and a dual core processor. I am excited to get this phone, especially since I recently got my employee Sling adapter from DISH Network. With the Sling adapter, I can stream live and recorded TV to my Android phone everywhere I have 3G coverage or WiFi. DISH is actually offering Sling adapters for free; you can find info at http://bit.ly/iKbJ4Q.
