Verizon Wireless just released the Motorola Droid 3 last week. The Motorola Droid 3 is larger than the original Droid 2 and features a 4-inch qHD touchscreen. This dual-core phone is powered by a 1GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The Droid 3 features an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording as well as a full QWERTY keyboard.
The Motorola Droid 3 is available on Verizon Wireless for $200 with a 2 year contract and for $460 without.
Despite all this and the hype preceding its release, preliminary sales of the device are not so great. To the point that an unknown source told Know Your Mobile that the Droid 3 or Milestone 3 in Europe will not be released in the UK.
That’s right, US sales of the Droid 3 are disappointing and are directly affecting the UK release. One of the reason for the cold reception from consumers for this Android device is due to other high-end competitors with better specs and price than the Motorola Droid 3. One phone that comes to mind is the Samsung Galaxy S2 which has a better display and processor than the Droid 3.
How true is it? To some extent it could be true, but for the sake of UK Droid fans I hope its not. Nonetheless, this news can only be pleasing to Motorola’s competitors such as Samsung and HTC. That’s a shame as I really like the fact that the Motorola Droid 3 have a physical QWERTY keyboard. Typing with the on-screen keyboard can be excruciating at times. Don’t you think?
