LG Optimus Black to compete against Iphone 3GS in India

LG will be launching one of the lightest and thinnest Android smartphone in IndiaLG Optimus Black.

This Android device runs Android 2.2 Froyo for now, but should have an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread next month. The Optimus Black features a 4-inch NOVA display with 480X800 pixels resolution.

The device is powered by a 1GHz TI OMAP processor with 512 MB of RAM and 2GB of internal storage. As most smartphones, the LG Optimus Black will have 2 cameras. It will have a 5-megapixel camera in the rear, and a 2-megapixel camera in the front.

The LG Optimus Black will be available for Rs 19,990 (USD $450) as is the Iphone 3GS 8GB. Tough competition I would say even if the Iphone 3GS is an older phone.
