Australia Optus taking pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy S2

Australia Optus carrier is taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S2. Scheduled to launch officially on May 26 in Australia, Samsung is describing the event as its biggest mobile phone launch this year.

Customers pre-ordering through Optus before May 28, will most likely receive their device on June 1st, the day the Samsung Galaxy S2 is released in Australia. Orders made after May 28 will be delivered after June 1st and based on stock supplies.
If this isn’t enough for you to pre-order one of the most awaited Android of the year, Optus is giving away free Samsung Desktop Dock for its first 200 pre-orders. This dual-core phone will be available starting from $0 on the Optus Cap plan.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 should come with an NFC chip turning your phone into a credit card device. Note that 2 versions of the Galaxy S2 exits, one without NFC, basically the European one, and one with NFC the Korean one. Which one will Australia get?
This will be determined during the official launch of the Galaxy S2 on May 26.

The Galaxy S2 is a quad-band 3G phone and will be offered by all 3 major Australian carriers, Optus, Telstra and Telstra Next G and Vodafone. For now, aside from Optus, other carriers have not disclosed their price plan.
